Creating a Movie Night Event (Slash Commands)

Schedule a Movie Night directly from Discord.

If you want to set up a Movie Night quickly without opening the dashboard, Mochi’s slash commands make it easy. In just a few steps, you can create an event, announce it to your server, and get everyone excited to join.


▶️ Create a Movie Night Event

To create a new Movie Night, use:

/movienight create

Mochi will guide you through a short setup with a few important options.


🧩 Event Options Explained

🎬 Movie or Show Name

Enter the name of the movie or show you’ll be watching.

This helps Mochi generate a clean, informative announcement so members know exactly what’s planned.


🔊 Event Channel (Voice Channel)

Select the voice channel where the Movie Night will take place.

This is where members will join to watch and hang out together.

💡 Tip: Make sure members have permission to join this voice channel.


📢 Announcement Channel

Choose the channel where Mochi should post the Movie Night announcement.

This is usually:

  • An events channel

  • An announcements channel

  • Or a dedicated movie-night channel


📣 Ping Role

Select a role to notify when the event is announced.

Examples:

  • @Movie Night

  • @Events

  • @Community

💡 Tip: Use ping roles thoughtfully so notifications feel exciting, not spammy.


✅ Save and Announce

Once all fields are filled:

  • Confirm the setup

  • Mochi posts the announcement automatically

Your Movie Night is now scheduled and visible to the community 🎉

To see all scheduled Movie Night events, use:
