Role items let members earn Discord roles directly from your store. These roles can unlock colors, channels, permissions, or simply act as prestige markers within your community.

They’re perfect for VIP access, cosmetic roles, supporter perks, or progression-based rewards — and they’re one of the most powerful ways to make your economy feel meaningful.

How to Create a Role Item

Follow these steps to add a role-based item to your store.

Create a New Item

1. Go to the Mochi Dashboard

2. Open your Store

3. Click New Item

4. Select the store where this item should live

Mochi will show all available stores on your server.

Set the Name, Price, and Stock

Give your role item a clear, appealing name.

Then configure:

• 💰 Price — how much the item costs

• 📦 Stock Quantity — how many can be sold

💡Tip: If you want unlimited purchases, toggle Unlimited.

Select the Role Item Type

• Under Reward Type, choose Role.

• This tells Mochi that this item will grant a Discord role when purchased.

Assign the Role

Select the Discord role that will be given to the member after purchase.

This can be:

• A color role

• A VIP or access role

• Any role with custom permissions

💡Tip: Make sure Mochi’s role is above this role in the server’s role hierarchy.

Customize the Item Display

Add a description to explain what the role offers.

You can also enhance the listing with:

• 🖼️ A thumbnail image

• 🖼️ A main image

These visuals help items stand out and feel more rewarding.

Save Your Item

• Once everything looks right, click Add.

• Your role item is now live and available for purchase 🎉
