Managing QOTD Questions

Keep questions fresh, fun, and right for your community.

Once QOTD is set up, the real magic comes from the questions themselves. Managing your QOTD list lets you shape the tone of daily conversations — whether that’s cozy, funny, thoughtful, creative, or playful.

Mochi gives you simple tools to add, review, and refine questions over time, so QOTD never feels stale or repetitive.

➕ Adding a New QOTD

Add your own questions to make QOTD feel personal.

To add a new question, use:

Tips for Writing Good QOTDs

  • Keep them open-ended

  • Avoid yes/no questions

  • Make them easy to answer in one sentence

  • Match your server’s tone

Examples:

  • “What’s a small thing that made you smile today?”

  • “If your life had a theme song right now, what would it be?”

  • “What’s your comfort food on a bad day?”

Once added, the question is saved to your Custom Questions deck and will be included in rotation (if enabled).

🗑️ Removing a QOTD

If a question feels outdated, awkward, or just isn’t landing well, you can remove it.

Use the removal option in your QOTD management tools (via the dashboard or command flow), and Mochi will take it out of rotation.

💡 Tip: It’s normal to prune your list over time — good QOTDs evolve with your community.

  • You want to avoid repeating similar prompts

🌱 Keep It Fresh

A healthy QOTD system:

  • Adds new questions regularly

  • Removes questions that feel stale

  • Reflects the community’s current vibe

You don’t need dozens of questions — just a steady rotation that feels human and inviting.
