Purge Messages

Clean up quickly. Restore clarity. Move forward.

Purge Messages gives moderators a fast, controlled way to remove multiple messages from a channel at once. It’s ideal for cleaning up spam, off-topic floods, or moments where a conversation derails and needs a reset — without deleting the entire channel or escalating unnecessarily.

This is a manual cleanup tool — you decide when and where it’s used.

Important:

🛠️ How to Use Purge

Command

/purge
  • Replace {amount} with the number of recent messages you want to remove.

  • The command must be run inside the channel you want to clean up.

Example

/purge 20

This removes the last 20 messages from the current channel.

🧭 When to Use Purge

Purge is useful for:

  • Clearing spam or bot floods

  • Removing mass off-topic chatter

  • Cleaning up after an incident

  • Resetting a channel after heated moments

It’s not meant for:

  • Quietly removing individual disagreements

  • Rewriting conversation history

  • Hiding moderation actions (logs still apply if enabled)

🌱 Why It Matters

Sometimes the healthiest moderation action is a clean slate.

Purge Messages:

  • Restores readability

  • Reduces tension after disruptions

  • Helps channels recover quickly

  • Saves moderators time

Used thoughtfully, it keeps conversations moving forward — without making moderation feel heavy-handed.
