Currency Boosters are consumable items that temporarily increase how much currency a member earns. They’re one of the most exciting store rewards because they feel powerful, time-limited, and strategic — members decide when to activate them for maximum impact.

Boosters only activate when used from inventory, and they automatically expire when the timer ends. Simple, fair, and fun.

How to Create a Currency Booster

Follow these steps to craft a booster item for your store.

Create a New Item

  • Open the Mochi Dashboard

  • Go to your Store

  • Click New Item

  • Select the store where this item should appear

Set the Name, Price, and Stock

Give your booster a clear, exciting name.

Then configure:

  • 💰 Price — how much it costs

  • 📦 Stock Quantity — how many are available

Toggle Unlimited if you want the item always available.

Customize the Item Display

Add a description explaining what the booster does.

Optional enhancements:

  • 🖼️ Thumbnail image

  • 🖼️ Main image

These help the item feel premium and exciting.

Choose the Reward Type

Under Reward Type, select Consumable. This opens the extended menu for customizing Consumable items.

This tells Mochi the item will be used once and removed from inventory.

Select the Consumable Type

Choose Currency Boost.

This defines what the consumable actually does when used.

Set the Boost Percentage

Decide how much extra currency the member earns while the boost is active.

You can set:

  • A fixed value (example: 10%)

  • Or a random range using the [range] variable

Example: [5-10] → Randomly boosts earnings between 5% and 10%

This adds variety and excitement to purchases.

Set the Duration

Choose how long the boost lasts:

  • Minutes

  • Hours

  • Days

The boost:

  • Activates only when the member uses the item

  • Automatically expires after the duration ends

  • Is removed from inventory when finished

No manual cleanup needed.

Pro Tip:

With Consumable rewards, an item can do more than one thing. You can combine multiple rewards into a single item and connect it to Mochi Flows for deeper, more dynamic experiences.
