Emoji Spam Moderation
Keep reactions fun — not overwhelming.
Emojis add personality and emotion to conversations, but too many at once can quickly flood a channel and make messages hard to follow. Emoji Spam Moderation helps keep chats playful and readable by gently stepping in when emoji use gets excessive.
It’s designed to guide behavior, not stop fun.
Note: Ban Actions
Automatic bans are currently not supported by Discord auto moderation. At this time, Discord does not allow auto moderation rules to directly ban members.
If this policy changes in the future, Mochi will be updated to support it where appropriate.
🌸 What Emoji Spam Moderation Does
When enabled, Mochi watches for messages that contain an excessive number of emojis in a short time. If emoji spam is detected, Mochi responds based on the options you choose.
You control:
What action is taken
Where the rule applies
Who the rule applies to
⚙️ Anti-Emoji Options
Emoji moderation settings follow the same simple pattern as other auto moderation tools.
⏳ Timeout Member
Temporarily restricts a member from sending messages when unreadable text is detected.
You can choose how long the timeout lasts:
60 seconds
5 minutes
10 minutes
1 hour
1 day
1 week
This allows you to match the response to your server’s tone — from gentle reminders to stronger cooldowns.
💬 Custom Message
Send a friendly message explaining what happened. This helps members understand that too many emojis at once can clutter the chat.
Example:
“Let’s keep emojis fun and readable — a few go a long way! 😊”
🚨 Send Alert
When enabled, Mochi sends an alert whenever emoji spam moderation is triggered.
Turning this on unlocks:
📌 Logging Channel
Select the channel where emoji spam alerts should be sent. This allows moderators to stay informed without actively monitoring every channel.
🚫 Ignored Channels
Choose channels where Emoji Spam Moderation should not apply.
This is useful for:
Meme channels
Reaction-heavy channels
Event or celebration spaces
Messages in ignored channels will not trigger emoji moderation.
🎭 Allowed Roles
Select roles that are exempt from emoji spam moderation.
Members with these roles can use emojis freely without triggering moderation. Helpful for:
Staff roles
Event hosts
Special announcer roles
🌱 Best Practices
Allow emojis — just set reasonable limits
Use friendly custom messages
Exclude channels meant for reactions or memes
Enable alerts if your server is very active
When set correctly, emoji moderation keeps conversations expressive without becoming noisy.
✨ Why It Matters
Balanced emoji use keeps chats:
Easy to read
Welcoming
Fun without chaos
Emoji Spam Moderation helps maintain that balance automatically — so moderators don’t have to step in.
